It couldn't hurt

...today I work up with my eyes so dry I could barely open them. No, I didn't crash after a night of partying with my contacts in...although I have done that before. No, it wasn't so hot out that we fell asleep with the ceiling fan on high...although I have done that before. I think it's due to the Sjogrens. I've linked it for those of you that don't know what I'm talking about. It's basically an autoimmune disease were my white blood cells attack the moisture producing parts of my body. It is NOT life-threatening just a little uncomfortable at the moment.
What I was wondering is, does anyone out there suffer from this too? Do you know someone that does? Is there any advice or suggestions you could give me?

HI Lorena I was diagnosed with secondary sjogens and lupus 10 years ago. Sounds like right now you have primary! I work with woman also who have AI and Pelvic Disorders. A diet high in raw oganic fruits and veggies works best......the least amount of chemical is best.
Gen teal drops best for eyes and biotene mouth wash.

Lorena my mind immediately went right to sleeping in the contacts. I've done that a time or two. Ouch. I had never heard of sjogens before, yuck. Take care of yourself.

Lorena I would love to talk with you. Sometimes we can have autoimmune symptoms etc....when our hormones are imbalanced. Our hormones have many functions and if one is off it throws everything off. Today we have millions of woman with hormone imbalance and the proof is in the pudding. Our youngest breast cancer survivor is 10 years old, yes I said 10. We have 90 million women with endometriosis, scores of woman with fibromyalgia and other auto immune disorders like sjogrens which does progress.
Taking animal products out of your diet will help you to feel better in all ways including slowing down the progression of sjogrens.
Woman with sjogrens can have very chronic bouts of depression and our food has a lot to do with as well as lack of exercise.
Stress increase cortisol which not only makes us gain weight but throws of our mood etc........
if we are depressed, moody, sad then we don't make enough serotonin (which most of it is produced in the gut) and then we have poor digestion .....etc.
My point is if you want to eliminate symptoms, feel better, stop the progression and you will lose weight that you keep off......your going to have to slowly make lifestyle changes like giving up animals products, coffee, stimulants etc......
Eating a diet high in organic fruits and vegggies......green smoothies etc.....
You also do better to not dye hair, paint nails or use a lot of products on your body, use dye free fragance and parban free products.
I know sounds like a lot but it is so worth it to live "natural" and I know because for 25 years I suffered until I finally took the bull by horns and started taking care of myself and accepting that I had something that couldn't be cure but it could be maintained.
Today our livestock is pumped fill of antibiotics, steroids and hormones not to mention that people like you and I have a tough time digesting meat.
For two reasons: Our hispanic ancestors ate huge amounts of fruits and our biology doesn't agree with the way Americans eat even if we were born here. And the second is due to the fat and acid in meat. If you look most Hispanic people are small framed and cannot carry the weight of an American person....the majority of us are built smaller because we ate foods that were not as calorie dense, but rather high in water content.
If you ever want to talk, ask questions or get some guidance on nutrition etc..feel free to give me a call 512-904-9995 and my cell which you can call me on a weekend 978-304-7910
