I'll call you Anita from Florida

This is the 3rd installment from the ATWQ (around the world quilt) swap. This one belongs to Anita A. from Florida...and I think she likes it.
I like how I'm learning so much with every one of these blocks I make! I hope to not duplicate anyone of them and learn a new technique for each one. This one was curves! much more difficult then I thought it would be!

Remember at the end of last year when I was making an afghan a week? Well I do (and so do my hands!) I started hanging out with some ladies...and they each started individual projects with particular purposes in mind. We met mostly weekly to work on our sed projects. Well after Christmas we kinda took a break. Most of our work finished, expect for my friend Jan. but as of last weekend she completed her very own afghan with almost no help from me!

I'm so proud!
and a bad blogger! seems not only did I miss my 100th post, I also missed my 1 year blogiversary! I suck! but I will come up with something spectacular to make it up to me. My only hopes is to not forget my 14th wedding anniversary this Sunday!

round and round

This block goes to Courtney's quilt. I had no problems putting this one together...I did however try something new, embroidery. I don't know...not too sure about it yet.

Inexperienced

I'd like to ask you a question...Does thisResemble this?
If you maybe squint your eyes (shut) and use your imagination?
The around the world quilt is making is around...and I've just received a block. The instructions where a house, not matchy, or too modern. I think I've got the not matching down pat! but do the colors work? I feel so inexperienced! I have no idea how to put something like this together...I just did my best. Lucky for me, I have a week to decide if I'm sending on it's next stop or if I'm re-doing the whole darn thing! like maybe after I get some instructions!

What do you think?

Also I'm dangerously close to my 100th post! It very exciting!!!

Around the world...

I think I might have mentioned that I signed up for a quilting swap? I think I might have a button over on the right? Did I tell you how excited I am about it? How about, that I have to mail out my starter block by the 18th of this month? Well, it's all true!

I sat down yesterday, after I got some ideas from all the awesome blocks the ladies have put together, and made my own. It's not perfect but then neither am I, so I LOVE it. I can't wait to see how each and everyone of the ladies adds to my block.

Now it off to Nann, she'll add to it and pass it on it's next stop around the world! How cool is that!

I'm anxiously awaiting a block from Debby (?), I'll add to hers and pass it on it way around the world. Each block has 20 stops and at the end we end up with a beautifully unique quilt top?!

Favorite Color Swap~ completed!

I think this one was by far the most funnest swap I've participated in! The rules where more relaxed but being crocheter...we still included crocheted pieces (not required this time). My partner Michelle and I hit it off immediately and it was a blast to shop for "periwinkle" items. Of course my favorite color of choice was yellow and that's exactly what I got! a box full of sunshine!

and this is what I sent Michelle

Now I'm on a self-imposed swap ban (crying) until after this semester is over...sociology and geology here I come!

2008 Purse swap

Although it might seem like I've abandoned this blog or that it has officially been taken over by a weight loss blog, it in fact has not. I have been working on crocheted items...just very quietly (shhhh) but here's a project I recently finished for craftimama.

Oh happy day....

I received my swap package from craftimama at crochetville, Thank you Juli!

I love it! absolutely love it! it just so very me...funky and colorful and fun. Even my kids said so...

Juli mentioned it would be themed and it sure was picture hot and spicy!

I had suggested that I loved this bobble bag from Umme Yusuf that I love and she recreated and then made it better by adding a supper long handle to go over my body. This bag is huge! just like I like them. It fit all my books and my laptop...I already tried.

THANK YOU!

Finishing up

This was a week of getting things done...unfortunately my camera was giving me fits so I have no proof!

2008 secret summer camp swap~ completed! It was fun I stayed a secret for most of it and I liked mailing out surprise package to my pal Kate(sockmad) unfortunately I do not have a picture of my reveal package or any of the other packages for that matter but I had a lot of fun. Now I'm (im)patiently waiting my package from my unknown secret pal.

Pamper Me swap~completed! I forgot to take a picture of the goodies I sent my swap pal CJ (crochetgal) but I do have a picture of the goodies she sent me!

Just look at all of it! I think this is why I'm addicted to swapping!?

I got to go see Josh Gracin at the Anaheim House of Blues! That was awesome...my camera was confiscated so I have no pictures but it was still a great concert! I do have a t-shirt to remind me, and this

now if I could only finish up all the other work in progress' I've got all over my house!

I got my package!

I have to say...this was my very first swap and I am absolutely happy and addicted!

Jackie (SPRAT605) was the best partner. Constant communication and very friendly, and the things she sent!

okay the details...2008 summer scarf swap, We were suppossed to make a summer scarf (ei; light weight and colorful) based on our individual partners. I submitted a survey and Jackie submitted her survey and we were then matched up.

This is what I got
The yellow scarf is absolutely the greatest! it's the same shade and texture as my baby blanky! It was a twin size blanket that when it was finally thrown out (not by me!) was only the size of 6" square! I was sad to see it go...
The blue and green and yellow scarf is so cute! I didn't take a good picture but the detail! Jackie really did a great job! and all the extra goodies! I took individual pictures of all of it but I think they're too many to post. So I'll just tell you...white chocolate, rasberry scones! and no you can't come over...because I'm not sharing! Java chocolate...come on coffee and chocolate! (drool) I got to afghan hooks, I really wanted to try those! a G, aluminum hook, a note and pen combo, a spiral notepad...looks really cool! beautiful yellow lionbrand Jiffy! now I just have to find the perfect pattern! and the cutest crocheted bag! I've already transferred all my stuff into!
All I've got to say is bring on the next swap!
