Oh happy day....

I received my swap package from craftimama at crochetville, Thank you Juli!

I love it! absolutely love it! it just so very me...funky and colorful and fun. Even my kids said so...

Juli mentioned it would be themed and it sure was picture hot and spicy!

I had suggested that I loved this bobble bag from Umme Yusuf that I love and she recreated and then made it better by adding a supper long handle to go over my body. This bag is huge! just like I like them. It fit all my books and my laptop...I already tried.

Testing~completed

I was given the honor to test 2 patterns for Kallurah one was her Audrey Fingerless gloves pattern, the other was her Victorian Cuff pattern.
They were an ease to work with. Well written and easy to follow and the finished product looks amazing. I've purchased her patterns before and will gladly do so again.
I only have a picture of the cuff for now as soon as I get a picture of the Audrey fingerless gloves I'll edit this post to include it.

I made the cuff to match my new Floral Cloche from the Crochet today sept/oct 2008 issue...I'd got quite a few patterns earmarked for future projects! I hope my hand can take it!

Finishing up

This was a week of getting things done...unfortunately my camera was giving me fits so I have no proof!


2008 secret summer camp swap~ completed! It was fun I stayed a secret for most of it and I liked mailing out surprise package to my pal Kate(sockmad) unfortunately I do not have a picture of my reveal package or any of the other packages for that matter but I had a lot of fun. Now I'm (im)patiently waiting my package from my unknown secret pal.


Pamper Me swap~completed! I forgot to take a picture of the goodies I sent my swap pal CJ (crochetgal) but I do have a picture of the goodies she sent me!

I got to go see Josh Gracin at the Anaheim House of Blues! That was awesome...my camera was confiscated so I have no pictures but it was still a great concert! I do have a t-shirt to remind me, and this



now if I could only finish up all the other work in progress' I've got all over my house!

Starlight Concert Series

rain and all it was a very good concert and a nice way to spend a Saturday night with the family.

I've been laying low, working hard on my many projects I've got going.


I did manage to ship out my 32 6" camo squares! YAY! swap 2 down...Still busy trying to finish the remaining 7" granny squares for swap number 3. I have time so I'm not worried...I have started laying out the squares that I've already received and it looks like it going to be a very nice blanket....I'm trying to decide what color to border it with?? decisions, decisions! I'm finishing up my summer camp swap over at crochetville, should have the reveal package mailed out end of this week, beginning of next. Same with the pamper me swap also on the 'ville...I think that swap was the most fun...all the patterns were so easy to follow and they worked up so quickly! and the plus side...it frees me up to join the purse swap! I'm so looking forward to that one!





I'd like to thank all the elves that have gifted me for Holidays in July! Their generosity of those ladies is tremendous! Thank you!

What a week...

After an erroneous crochet marathon on Saturday...I've been on a self-impossed crochet break.

What does that mean you ask??? Well...it started back when I signed up for 2 granny square swaps at the same time. For one I have to make 2 (per person), 7"traditional granny squares where every row is a different color and it's trimmed in white. The other is 4(per person) 6" camo squares any type, no border. The problem...I thought they were due to ship on June 30th and I had but 7 of the 7" sqaures and NONE of the 6" ones! So like a MAD woman I crocheted 32, 6" camo squares on saturday! and started the other 36, 7" granny squares...hoping to have them done in time. Well when I came to work on monday...to my complete surprise I noticed that the due date wasn't until JULY 31st! tada I feel so much better.

But even when on a break...the crochet sneeks up on me. It's like my hands seek it out!?

currently on hooks is: learning tunisian stitch...I think I love it!

we found the blue shark in our mail box! some sneaky prankster from camp has been mailing them out. It was a very fun surprise...Thank You!

and then...I made another batch of baby shower favors my SIL...yes the same one that just had a baby shower, that I also made shower favors for! I volunteered though so I can't complain...nor would I. I love doing that sort of thing!

Baby shower~DONE!

It's sunday morning and I can finally report...baby shower over! the blanket was a hit
and the baby shower favors were also a hit...as you can see

on the projet front...I finished my scarf swap...mailed out a summer camp swap package to my secret swap partner...and fell way behind on my granny square swap. But I'm not worried I have until June 30 the to mail out the rest of them squares... oh and I signed up for the pamper me swap at crochetville I know, but I couldn't help it! oh well as long as my hands don't fall off, I should be okay? right?!

I finally finished! and just in time...Melissa's (SIL) baby shower is this weekend June 7th which is also my 13 year wedding anniversary!

I have to say...this was my very first swap and I am absolutely happy and addicted!

Jackie (SPRAT605) was the best partner. Constant communication and very friendly, and the things she sent!

okay the details...2008 summer scarf swap, We were suppossed to make a summer scarf (ei; light weight and colorful) based on our individual partners. I submitted a survey and Jackie submitted her survey and we were then matched up.

This is what I got

The yellow scarf is absolutely the greatest! it's the same shade and texture as my baby blanky! It was a twin size blanket that when it was finally thrown out (not by me!) was only the size of 6" square! I was sad to see it go...

The blue and green and yellow scarf is so cute! I didn't take a good picture but the detail! Jackie really did a great job! and all the extra goodies! I took individual pictures of all of it but I think they're too many to post. So I'll just tell you...white chocolate, rasberry scones! and no you can't come over...because I'm not sharing! Java chocolate...come on coffee and chocolate! (drool) I got to afghan hooks, I really wanted to try those! a G, aluminum hook, a note and pen combo, a spiral notepad...looks really cool! beautiful yellow lionbrand Jiffy! now I just have to find the perfect pattern! and the cutest crocheted bag! I've already transferred all my stuff into!

All I've got to say is bring on the next swap!

Baby Alpaca-You are beautiful and soft, if sometimes a little difficult. Nothing but the best for you, etc. Quality, but out of the league for the rabble.

Scarf for the summer scarf swap at crochetville DONE!!!! and it's gorgeous I want one for me too... I've never participated in a swap before and so far still so much to be desired...

but for my granny square swap...WOW! what a difference, those ladies are great! I've received so many squares all ready and have begun to mail out some of my own. I must post pictures soon.

On to my other pressing projects....hopefully I can finish one a day for the next 3 days! ahhhhhh...wishful thinking.

Whoa!

I've been busy...no not completing projects! adding ot my ever growing list of to do projects!
I'm involved in a scarf swap at crochetville...that one is working up quiet nicely. I hope my swap partner loves it as much as I do. Then I signed up for the Summer camp swap at crochetville...that one should be fun but it seems like somethings missing....(more later)
Still working on a FBB, circle to square blanket, messenger bag (graduation present), wee back-pack, and a beach tote...I think that's all of them. I'll post pictures as I complete them! if I ever do!

Ranting...venting...better?

I've got issues! I can not go into a store pick out a pair of shoes and take them home without paying for them?! right? So why do some poeple insist on doing that very same thing to me?! Why am I not considered a store when they request hand-made items that I spend time on and give my all to. Why do they insist on trying them on...wearing them around...ordering another and expect to pay when ever they feel ready!? AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!

It makes me want to scream! I work very hard on EVERY thing I make and just expect some consideration.

at the moment I am over-loaded with projects and under-paid for the ones completed...

4/27 Dodger game

I've been crocheting like mad woman trying to get 2 of the 4 Fat bottom bags done before Mother's day...and I hit a snag! one of the bags (navy with military lining pictured) I completed no problem but the other...I didn't have enough yarn! and when I went online to find it so I could purchase it it looks like it's been discountined?! I posted a message on crochetville and I've had some responses but I don't think I'll get it in time...also the lining for this bag is still not shipped! I bought it on ebay and I'm just having a heck of a time!

But I did score some free yarn! I placed an add on freecycle and got 2 responses...One wonderful lady gave me 2 huge bags of yarn! I'm sorting and hoping to use most of it for my Granny square swap over at Yarn lover's room.

I also signed up for the 2008 Summer scarf swap at crochetville and I'm definetly looking forward to that! I can't wait to find out who I'm swapping with!

It's going to be a busy month for me!! just like I like it

(update in the baby blanket-still plugging along. I got the invitation to the baby shower...June 7th. (which by the way is my 13th wedding anniversary!) gotta finish it up! it's almost halfway joined and it's not looking too bad...if I say so myself?!

Progress

I finished making the squares for my circle to square blanket...FINALLY! now I have join and I'm kinda stuck...I don't want to have a ridge where I join and I'm not sure about the various methods I've searched for online...so this project goes in the hold pile.
I have been requested to make FBB's for mother's day gifts...4 to be completed before Mother's Day! I do LOVE a challange. and I've got exactly 4 weeks left in this semester so that means FINALS coming up very soon! I sure hope I'm ready and that I'm not in way over my head!
